We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Commissioning Engineer to join our team, specializing in Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical switchgear equipment at client sites across various industries. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities of the role include:
1. Installation of LV/MV switchboards.
2. Perform site-based commissioning of LV/MV switchgear systems, including functional testing, protection relay configuration, and system integration.
3. Conduct pre-commissioning checks, insulation resistance tests, and fault diagnostics.
4. Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
5. Ensure compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and health & safety regulations.
6. Liaise with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
7. Provide technical support and troubleshooting during and after commissioning.
8. Carry out Site Acceptance Testing to customers specifications.
9. Prepare and submit detailed commissioning reports, test records, and documentation.
10. Participate in site surveys, risk assessments, and method statement preparation.
11. Support training and mentoring of junior engineers or technicians when required.

13. A good technical background with specific bias towards the installation, commissioning & maintenance of Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Switchgear and associated equipment.

Qualifications & Professional Background:
17. Educated to a minimum of ONC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
18. Proven experience in commissioning LV/MV switchgear, ideally in industrial or utility environments. Preferably in an Oil & Gas/Petrochem environment.
19. Familiarity with protection relays (., Siemens, ABB, Schneider, GE,.
20. Experience with SCADA systems, PLCs, and automation interfaces.
21. Ability to work independently and manage multiple site activities.
22. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
23. Willingness to travel (including internationally) and work flexible hours, including weekends if required.
24. Full Clean UK Driving License.
