As an Engineering technician you will provide a comprehensive and professional engineering support service for the Steriles Business Unit (SBU) to meet the business & regulatory needs of the department, with responsibility for all engineering activities associated with the production process.
1. Working with a range of equipment and technology within a Steriles Business Unit which consists of manufacture/filling & Inspect/Assembly/packaging of both syringes and vials.
2. The role will be shift based, likely 24/7 or 24/5.
3. Supporting day to day breakdown repairs of production / plant equipment.
4. Completing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules & breakdown maintenance activities.
5. Support for localised area projects, including new product introduction.
6. Completion of tasks within Engineering Change Controls.
7. Preparation, completion & ownership of GMP safety and quality documentation.
8. Accountable for the delivery of SAP/MERPS activities such as Work Orders, Notifications, Data Maintenance & Ordering of plant spares.
9. Delivery of Continuous Improvement to drive increased performance in line with EHS & Quality improvement objectives and KPI’s via the use of GPS tools.
10. Equipment upgrades and obsolescence through continuous improvement.
11. Self-management of training compliance metrics.
12. Performing calibration of equipment instrumentation.
13. Supervision of internal/external contractors, ensuring GMP standards, reviewing contract company details for accuracy.
14. Sterile and terminally sterilised processes of products including boundary control and contamination prevention.
15. Building infrastructure specific tasks concerned with, building fabric, electricity, piped services supply and drainage.
16. Operation & maintenance of systems such as air compressors, VHP and refrigeration systems.
17. Positively engage with stakeholders, ensuring relevant contract details are accurate.
18. Deliver data cleansing activities to ensure optimum data maintenance.
19. Maintain compliance in the role, department and site procedures, processes and systems.
20. Manage the data creations and changes to SAP vendor data.
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
21. Multi skilled technician with an industry recognised apprenticeship and post-apprenticeship industry-based knowledge and experience.
22. Minimum of an HNC level qualification in an Engineering discipline
23. Hands on experience of GSK/Pharmaceutical processes and procedures
24. Experience with SAP business system
25. Demonstrable experience working with cross functional teams in a complex organisation
26. Required to demonstrate competence in current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP),
27. Strong experience of working in a complex GMP environment.
