Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a primary school setting?
GSL Education are looking for a caring and committed Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school environment in Blyth. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional support in their learning journey, particularly those with SEN such as Autism, Speech & Language needs, ADHD, or SEMH.
Key Responsibilities of the Primary Teaching Assistant (SEN):
Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual pupil needs.
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
Use a range of strategies to promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil progress.
Support pupils' social, emotional and educational development.
Maintain clear and accurate records of support and progress.
Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement personalised learning plans.
Job Requirements of the Primary Teaching Assistant (SEN):
Previous experience supporting children with SEN (preferred).
A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude.
A passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent are essential.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply through GSL Education).
