Care assistant £16/hr
Personal Assistant required in BS15 area for 30 hours/week @ £14/hour.
Start date: ASAP
Working pattern: Monday to Friday between 10:00-16:00.
Personal Assistant required for a non verbal 43‑year‑old gentleman (J) with Down Syndrome. J lives at home with his parents in Hanham.
Main Duties
* Personal Care.
* Administering medication and support attending medical appointments.
* Household tasks: some meal preparation, light cleaning, tidying, ironing and laundry.
* J enjoys swimming and has a membership at David Lloyd's. J attends a drama therapy session once a week and likes to go out for food and drinks. J also has an annual membership for Wake the Tiger and Slimbridge.
About You
* You will have good communication skills and will be able to understand non verbal prompts. J is very good at communicating his needs.
* Be patient, understanding and empathetic.
* Honest, reliable and punctual.
* Comfortable around dogs.
* A driving licence is essential as you will be required to drive J's car.
This is an employed role and attracts the normal statutory rights attached.
