Offer description

Overview

We are looking to recruit a Senior Clinical Fellow on a 12 month fixed term contract in the Department of Medicine for Older People (Elderly Medicine).

About the department and opportunities

The successful candidate will be joining a well organised department providing a wide range of services at specialty and sub-specialty level. We work together collaboratively and supportively, and we are always looking to improve the care for patients across the organisation.

The wide breadth of services available at Manchester Foundation Trust allows experience of specialised clinics that might otherwise be difficult to attend. It is also ideally suited to anyone wishing to further their development as a leader, educator or quality improvement (QI) practitioner. These posts have an assigned educational supervisor and a wide range of educational opportunities available which can be tailored to the needs of individual trainees.

There is also the opportunity to attend lunchtime lectures, specialty clinics and several sub-specialty multi-disciplinary team meetings. These posts are identical in the clinical supervision, educational supervision and in-house educational programme opportunities given to our training grade medical posts at junior grade level.

Requirements

Applicants must be a fully registered medical practitioner and hold a current GMC license to practice and be eligible to work in the UK. They must have a minimum of two years post-graduate medical experience with either current employment in a UKFPO-affiliated Foundation programme or 12 months experience post full GMC registration and evidence of achievement of foundation competencies including full MRCP membership. A current Advanced Life Support Certificate is essential. Please refer to the person specification for further details.
