Prospero Teaching are looking for flexible, creative, and compassionate Tutors to work with secondary-aged students across Calne who are currently not accessing mainstream education.
These young people may be at risk of permanent exclusion (PEX) and often experience Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Your role will be to provide engaging, confidence-building sessions in Maths and English, tailored to each learner's unique needs and interests.
As a Tutor you will:
Deliver personalised Maths and English sessions that are practical, engaging, and accessible
Build positive relationships with young people who may be reluctant to engage
Support emotional regulation and confidence through consistent, nurturing interactions
Collaborate with wider support teams to monitor progress and adapt strategiesAbout you:
Experience working with young people with SEMH needs or those disengaged from education
Strong understanding of the secondary curriculum (particularly KS3/KS4 Maths and English)
Creativity in lesson planning and delivery

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL
Trauma-informed and skilled in de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies- Desirable
Background in education, youth work, or therapeutic support- Desirable
Ability to adapt sessions to include interests such as sports, art, or hands-on activities- DesirableTo be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide references upon request
Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
