Level 3 Teaching Assistant - SEMH School Location: Bolton Contract: Full-time, term time Start date: ASAP (or by agreement) We are currently recruiting a Level 3 Teaching Assistant on behalf of a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Bolton. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and resilient TA who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional and complex needs. The Role: Supporting pupils with SEMH needs across the school day, both in the classroom and through targeted 1:1 or small group interventions Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and external professionals to support learning, behaviour and emotional regulation Using trauma-informed and restorative approaches to manage behaviour positively Helping pupils to access the curriculum, develop social skills and build emotional resilience Supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour, ensuring a calm and consistent approach The Ideal Candidate Will Have: A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) Proven experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour or trauma A good understanding of behaviour management strategies, emotional regulation and de-escalation techniques The ability to build strong, professional relationships with pupils who may struggle with trust and engagement A calm, patient and resilient approach to work Desirable (but not essential): Experience in an SEMH school, PRU or alternative provision Team Teach or similar behaviour management training Experience supporting pupils with Autism or ADHD Psychology, youth work or related background What We Offer: Full-time, ongoing work in a supportive SEMH setting Competitive agency pay rates Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant Opportunities for training and progression within specialist education If you are an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference in an SEMH school, we would love to hear from you.
