About the role

We are looking for a Director, Planning and Strategy who will be responsible for developing integrated B2B strategies for technology clients in regulated markets (e.g., FinTech, HealthTech, Cyber) to build brand into measurable performance, by integrating earned, paid, search/SEO, analytics, and digital experience to generate high-quality leads and higher-value pipeline.

This role will lead clients from diagnosis to measurable impact, heading the Clarity Intelligence Unit (CIU) with oversight of insight, analytics, planning, and measurement.

They will also be responsible for designing and governing growth programs that encompass market insight, proposition and narrative, PESO channel architecture, demand generation and ABM, measurement frameworks, and continuous campaign improvement.


Core Responsibilities

* Market & consultative value proposition
o Define and continually sharpen Clarity’s market-facing proposition so clients know when, why and how to engage and the outcomes to expect.
o Clearly articulate how our work connects brand building to business performance, especially for complex B2B buyers.
o Identify priority client problems by segment (e.g., category entry, market shaping, growth-stage ABM).
o Turn our solutions into clear, packaged offers that take clients from diagnosis through to measurement and reporting.
o Ensure offers are deliverable by integrated teams and align with common client tech stacks.
* Translate client challenges into integrated strategies that clearly link to pipeline and reputation.
* Set success metrics and measurement frameworks
* Develop ICP-specific narratives and messaging aligned to corporate positioning and challenges.
* Design PESO plans (channel roles, sequencing, budgets) showing how earned fuels performance.
* Define ABM and demand-gen programmes, content journeys, offers and CRO/experimentation plans.
* Drive revenue growth by setting account targets and executing business development plans.
* Create credible, evidence-led thought leadership that support marketing plans
* Partner with Clarity Marketing team to produce content aligned to propositions and priority sectors.
* Qualify and shape targets: problem statement, account plan, expected value and sales strategy.
* Lead the strategy workstream for RFPs and pitches.
* Ensure coherent execution across PR/earned, paid, search/SEO, content and digital experience with clear accountability and outcomes.
* Lead and coach a multi-disciplinary bench (insight, analysts, planners); set quality bars and review standards for strategy artefacts.
* Establish and embed a method library (diagnostics, models, templates, checklists) across client teams.
* Sponsor and deliver skills development; stay current on tools and techniques (GA4/GSC/CRM/BI), SEO, ABM, GEO/AI-led search, etc.
* Plan resourcing for strategic workstreams on priority accounts; manage specialist leads as required.


About you

* Proven experience in B2B marketing/communications strategy, ideally across technology, FinTech, Health-Tech or other complex/regulated markets.
* Proven record of building integrated plans across PR/earned, paid media (inc Programmatic), search/SEO/GEO, content, social and website/CRO.
* Hands-on with ABM, demand generation, marketing–sales alignment and revenue attribution.
* Outstanding client handling and C-suite communication skills; frames strategic choices with evidence and risk trade-offs.
* People leadership: hiring, coaching, career development and cross-discipline collaboration.
* Advantageous: corporate affairs/public policy exposure; GEO/LLM optimisation; strong analytics and brand measurement (incl. Barcelona Principles), Share of Search and foundational MMM.
* Demonstrate proven, hands-on experience with AI tools, applying them to drive more effective, efficient, data-driven, and innovative solutions.
* Advocate for ethical and responsible use of AI, ensuring transparency, data privacy, and trust in all AI-enabled initiatives.
