We're working with a leading engineering consultancy to find an experienced Associate Mechanical Engineer to join their growing Exeter team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior-level engineer looking to lead projects, influence design strategy, and mentor a high-performing team across a wide range of sectors.
You'll be involved in delivering innovative mechanical solutions across commercial, residential, education, healthcare, heritage, and mixed-use developments.
What You'll Be Doing
* Leading client meetings, design workshops, and project coordination
* Developing early-stage mechanical and building services concepts
* Overseeing technical delivery, including designs, calculations, reports, and specifications
* Mentoring and supporting junior engineers
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, sustainability, digital, fire, acoustics)
* Managing project budgets, resources, and commercial performance
* Supporting business development and client relationship management
* Driving innovation and continuous improvement in design processes
What We're Looking For
* Strong background in mechanical building services engineering
* Proven experience delivering projects in a consultancy environment
* Expertise in HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, cooling, air-conditioning)
* Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
* Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and design software
* Solid understanding of UK regulations and industry standards
* Strong communication and client-facing skills
* Commercial awareness and ability to deliver profitable projects
