Are you a passionate educator with experience supporting students outside of mainstream education? We’re looking for a committed and compassionate Alternative Provision (AP) Tutor to support vulnerable and disengaged learners across Sunderland. About the Role: As an AP Tutor, you’ll work with young people who are not in mainstream school due to behavioural, emotional, or medical needs. You’ll deliver tailored 1:1 or small group tuition, helping to re-engage students in their education and improve academic outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging lessons in core subjects (English, Maths, Science, etc.) Adapt learning to suit each student's individual needs and EHCPs Provide academic and emotional support to help students achieve their potential Record progress and provide feedback to schools, families, and professionals Travel to student homes, community settings, or alternative provision sites as required Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher (QTS/QTLS) or experienced tutor with relevant background Experience working with SEMH, EHCP, PRU, or excluded pupils is highly desirable Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills Up-to-date Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain) Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality protocols We Offer: Flexible working to fit your lifestyle Supportive team and dedicated coordinator Competitive hourly rates Meaningful work with real impact on learners' lives If you would like to hear more information about the roles TP Tutors can offer you, please apply with an updated CV.
