About Hinkley Point C
The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.
Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.
What you'll be doing
As a Technical Clerk Support, you will have the following responsibilities,
1. Develop comprehensive documentation that meets contractual requirements
and standards.
2. Develop a deep understanding of the MEH Alliance scope to enable compilation of
contract deliverables into suitable documentation to support the construction
management system needs.
3. Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience.
4. Constantly evaluate the content of documents and develop innovative
approaches for improvement.
5. Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely
with various teams to understand project requirements.
6. Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop,
organise, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process
7. Research, create and maintain information architecture templates that uphold
organisational standards, and allow for easy access.
8. Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a
consistent and cohesive message across all documentation.
9. Assist with the creation of Construction Work Packs in the Switch system.
Who we're looking for
Do you have?
10. HNC/HND in relevant technical field.
11. IOSH Managing Safely preferred
12. CCNSG or HSE MaPs Safety Passport
13. Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for
multiple audiences.
14. Experience of working with engineering to improve the user experience
(design and user interface), to help refine content and to create visuals
and diagrams for technical support content.
15. Ability to obtain a high-level security clearance.
