Head of Operations – Hedge Fund (London)
A rapidly expanding hedge fund is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Operations to establish and lead its London operations. This is a newly created, high-impact role, reflecting the firm’s ambitious growth strategy and increasing presence in the European market.
The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing investment firm at a pivotal stage of its expansion. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will play a critical role in building, scaling, and optimising the operational infrastructure to support front-office activity and future growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and lead the London operations function, including middle and back-office oversight
* Develop and implement scalable operational frameworks, controls, and processes
* Oversee trade lifecycle management, NAV oversight, reconciliations, and settlements
* Manage relationships with prime brokers, fund administrators, custodians, and other service providers
* Partner closely with Portfolio Managers, Risk, Compliance, and Finance teams
* Drive operational efficiency, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Ensure robust governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance across all operations
* Support new product launches, fund structuring, and strategic business initiatives
Requirements
* Significant operations experience within a hedge fund or alternative asset manager
* Proven track record in building or scaling operations within a growing platform
* Strong understanding of hedge fund strategies, trade flows, and operational risk
* Experience managing third-party service providers and vendor relationships
* Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
* Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
