About The Role
The trainee will enjoy working within a small remote team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career development, with the potential to progress into a fully qualified Management Accountant.
Key Responsibilities
* Submitting proposed payment runs for clients for review
* Completing bank reconciliations in Xero ensuring all transactions are accounted for ahead of the planned date of management accounts preparation, ensuring money received is reconciled to customer remittance advices
* Posting purchase expenses into Xero using Dext
* Matching purchase orders with supplier invoices
* Creating sales invoices within Xero
* Preparing monthly / quarterly accounts for various clients
* Preparing monthly / quarterly VAT returns for various clients
* Processing payroll for multiple clients
* Planning their own time across a variety of clients to ensure multiple deadlines are met
* Undertaking balance sheet reconciliations
* Reviewing the profit & loss account for accuracy
* Preparing analytical review of the profit & loss
Core Software Exposure
Xero, Dext, Karbon (experience preferred but training provided).

Requirements
Who We’re Looking For
Essential
* A relevant Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar or 1–2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice or finance role
* Strong numerical ability and attention to detail
* Clear written and verbal English communication skills
* Confident using cloud software
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and organise your own workload
* A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of your development
* Strong alignment with our values around sustainability, integrity and continuous improvement
Desirable
* Studying or intending to study AAT / ACCA
* Previous exposure to bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll or management accounts
* Experience using Xero, Dext, or similar cloud-based systems
* Experience working in a remote team environment
Candidates will be required to work from our Taunton office once per week and have the right to work in the UK on a permanent basis i.e. not via a temporary visa. We cannot support relocation.
