Your new role As Business Unit Manager, you will be reporting to the Head of Operations with all matters relevant to the performance of the production units and will prepare monthly reports for presentation to the Board. You will be managing the efficient production of products on a daily basis across all production machines in accordance with specification and quality requirements. You will lead, champion and deliver the departmental business improvement plans and provide technical expertise within the department and take a hands-on approach when required. You will work in close collaboration with the Head of Operations to deliver and exceed targeted key performance products. You will also work closely with master planning, plan all production activities and manage complex scheduling of work on a daily basis. On a daily basis, you will be engaging with support departments i.e. maintenance, commercial, quality, HR, H&S, technical etc. to ensure effective running of the factory. What you'll need to succeed The ideal candidate will have a proven track record with a minimum of 5 years’ management experience, ideally within a plastic injection moulding environment. You should have a strong technical background with a good understanding of polymers and have experience of lean manufacturing tools. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of materials management as well as a knowledge of HSE standards and ISO 9001 quality in a manufacturing environment. You should have excellent communication, interpersonal and reporting skills with excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. You should have experience of developing staff and achieving departmental and business objectives with strong IT skills, including MS Office and particularly excel. Ideally, you will also have a third level qualification and have experience with MRP and Manufacturing Execution Systems.
