The school's own café and work‑experience opportunities play a vital role in preparing pupils for independence and employment Role Summary & Responsibilities As an SEN Learning Support Assistant in Aylesbury, you will: Deliver tailored one-to-one and group support aligned with students' Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs). Aid with literacy, numeracy, and social resilience targets in class and during life skills sessions. Help implement sensory and communication strategies alongside therapists and teaching staff. Support vocational and practical activities such as horticulture or the school café. Encourage independence in self-care, personal finance, and daily routines. Build positive, respectful relationships with pupils to promote emotional well-being. Skills, Knowledge & Experience We're looking for candidates who: Have experience working with children with SEN - especially ASD, MLD, SLCN, or SpLD. Understand EHCP targets and behaviour/sensory support strategies. Communicate effectively with colleagues, pupils, and families. Demonstrate patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive practice.
