Overview
Ipswich Borough Council is looking for a proactive and skilled Corporate Fraud Investigator to join our Internal Audit & Corporate Fraud team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in protecting public funds and resources across council services and partner organisations.
You’ll lead investigations into suspected fraud, theft, corruption, and other irregularities across a wide range of council services and partner authorities.
Responsibilities
* Conduct investigations in line with appropriate legislation and best practice.
* Collaborate with external agencies such as the DWP, HMRC, Police, and UKBA.
* Develop and deliver fraud detection initiatives.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to strategic anti-fraud planning.
* Provide training and guidance on fraud prevention.
Qualifications
* Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist or minimum 3 years’ experience in a fraud investigation role.
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation including PACE, RIPA, Fraud Act, Bribery Act.
* Excellent communication, interviewing, and analytical skills.
* Ability to manage sensitive cases independently and professionally.
Working Arrangements & Requirements
* Hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday.
* DBS clearance is required for this role.
* This is a hybrid working role (a minimum of 1 day per week working in the office).
