Estate Services Contract Manager

Location: Reading / Basingstoke Area

Salary: Up to £72k (dependent on experience and suitability for the role)

Closing date: 17th June 2024

AWE is recruiting for multiple Estate Services Contract Managers to manage the operational key service provision contracts across various AWE sites. You will be responsible for managing the day‑to‑day operations of hard services, soft services, utilities and waste, and total facilities management (TFM) circa £80 - £100 million per annum.

You will have an in-depth understanding of business requirements for the assigned areas and will be motivated to drive value for money, applying industry leading contract management techniques to mitigate commercial risk.

Key Accountabilities

* Contribute to the creation of a highly motivated, skilled, and professional contract management team that delivers contract performance outcomes, aligned to business and HMG commercial requirements, with the capacity to meet business demand plan.
* Review and verify contract certificates for payment and Compensation events and cost of change; support the development and drive the implementation of Supplier Strategies for assigned suppliers, with the objective of minimizing risk for AWE and maximizing value.
* Ensuring all contract's are responsible for a robust Contract Management Plan with defined procedure for delivery performance management, invoice applications, risk management and contract reviews.
* Ensure contracts are delivered in accordance with business management system, business priorities and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with regulations and legislation.
* Work with the SCM Delivery Unit Sourcing/Category team to support strategic sourcing and contract negotiations pre‑contract award and apply lessons learned to enhance contracting models and support supplier selection.


Key Responsibilities

* Monitor and mitigate contract risks (including Quality, Environmental & Health and Safety, supplier fragility and supplier co‑dependency), develop and implement corrective action plans for the identified risks.
* Maintain effective record keeping and change management of the contract in accordance with the contractual governance procedures.
* Undertake contract financial analysis to identify root cause of performance failure or cost risk and present findings.
* Ensure legal compliance with contracts by monitoring changes in laws or regulations that may affect the company's ability to meet its obligations and mitigate any potential conflict of interest or breach of company ethic's policy.


Qualifications & Experience

* Prior experience of running / managing key operational contracts.
* Numerate and able to translate and analyse a supplier's financial data.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills.
* Articulate and persuasive, able to relate commercial information to a non‑specialist audience and influence support for difficult or unpopular commercial decisions.
* Excellent communication, presentational and negotiation skills.
* Excellent working knowledge of industry standard contracting models (e.g., NEC, JCT), as applicable to business area.
* Experience of achieving success in highly pressurised environments to secure value for money and/or performance outcomes.

All candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
