What will the Assistant Accountant role involve?
* Supporting month-end procedures by preparing accurate reconciliations and financial schedules that enable strategic decision-making.
* Assisting with quarterly forecasts, analysing trends, and supporting the annual budgeting process with insightful financial data.
* Taking ownership of the CIS scheme and sub-contractor invoicing process, including liaising with HMRC, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
* Coordinating weekly payroll collation and providing management with detailed reports on working hours and costs.
* Delivering finance reports and analysis to support commercial teams in driving business performance.
Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant vacancy:
* Experience supporting month-end closing activities, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and reconciliations.
* Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis.
* Familiarity with CIS procedures is advantageous but not essential.
* Confident communicator, capable of engaging with senior management and department heads to relay financial insights.
* Demonstrates a proactive attitude, strong organisational skills, and a collaborative approach to work.
