Bid Writer
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bid Writer to join our growing team. This role is central to securing new work through the development of high-quality, client-focused bids, proposals, and tender submissions. The successful candidate will be an exceptional writer and editor, with strong organisational skills and a creative approach to producing compelling, well-presented documents that effectively communicate our value and expertise.
Bid Writing & Coordination

Lead the writing, editing, and coordination of tender submissions, PQQs, ITTs, and framework responses, ensuring all documents meet client requirements and company standards.

Thoroughly edit and proofread all material to ensure information is accurate, consistent, and grammatically correct, with no spelling or formatting errors.
*
Review all client documents prior to bid launch meetings to fully understand submission requirements, evaluation criteria, and deliverables.
*
Work closely with the Bid Manager to develop clear win strategies and ensure all win themes are compelling and effectively communicated throughout the submission.
*
Manage and contribute to the written proposal in terms of both content and presentation, ensuring all responses are persuasive, structured, and aligned with client expectations.

Produce bespoke CVs and project case studies tailored to the specific requirements of each bid.
*
Ensure timescales are achieved at every stage of the bid process, including all internal reviews and sign-off procedures, while proactively setting realistic deadlines.
*
Co-ordinate and plan client presentations associated with bid submissions, ensuring they are well-structured, visually engaging, and aligned with the written proposal.
*
Maintain a consistent library of bid materials, including project write-ups, staff profiles, and company content, ensuring all information is current and compliant with branding guidelines.

Understand client requirements in detail and ensure all submissions clearly address these needs with relevant evidence and strong value propositions.

Support the production and design of all submission materials — ensuring documents are visually appealing, in line with corporate branding, and easy to read.

Collaborate with internal teams to gather technical input, transform complex information into accessible language, and enhance the overall quality of submissions.
*
Continuously review and refine bid content, structure, and templates to improve consistency and competitiveness.
*
Monitor procurement portals and industry bulletins for new opportunities and upcoming tenders.
Marketing & Support (Secondary Responsibilities)

Assist in creating marketing materials, case studies, and capability statements to complement bid activity and promote the company’s strengths.

Support the team in maintaining brand consistency across all communications, presentations, and promotional documents.
Essential Skills & Attributes
*
Proven experience in bid writing, tender coordination, or proposal management, ideally within the construction or built environment sector.
*
Exceptional writing, editing, and proof-reading skills, with excellent attention to detail.
*
Strong ability to interpret client documentation and translate technical or operational information into persuasive, benefit-led narratives.
*
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign (or equivalent design software).
*
Highly organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to collaborate across departments and engage with senior stakeholders.
