Thrive on openness, respect, and collaboration? Good. Buro Happold has an exciting opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join our Projects team. The UK Projects team provide project and design management support to our largest and most complex multidisciplinary projects and have supported iconic developments such as the Everton Hill Dickinson Stadium, Battersea Powerstation redevelopment, and The Factory Theatre in Manchester.
The key focus of the role will be to support the Project Leader and Project Director with administration tasks as needed to ensure successful and coordinated project delivery.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with external and internal teams, supporting Project Leaders and Project Directors.
* Manage project information, including RFI schedules, client comments, correspondence logs, watchlists, technical queries, risk registers, and change logs.
* Assist in preparing project execution plans.
* Manage and maintain the project change control process and relevant documentation.
* Organize meetings and facilities, chase engineers for attendance, and facilitate project coordination sessions.
* Record, monitor, and coordinate design team actions across multi-discipline design services.
* Train engineers in using appropriate Project Office tools and templates.
* Coordinate travel (flights, trains, accommodation) for the engineering team.
* Handle other project coordination and delivery tasks as needed.
Essential skills and experience
* Comfortable conversing with senior staff members across the practice.
* Able to plan ahead and meet deadlines effectively.
* Ability to work across multiple projects and prioritize tasks appropriately.
* Intermediate level MS Office skills, especially in Excel.
* Approachable when dealing with internal and external customers.
* Sufficiently perceptive to identify possible issues and take appropriate action.
* Able to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
* Enthusiastic about delivering excellent results and taking responsibility for own delivery.
* Capable of identifying areas where processes may benefit from improvement.
Desirable
* Previous experience in an engineering or construction context.
* Experience supporting a multi-disciplinary team and working one-on-one.
* Familiarity with InDesign (training provided).
