The role
Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working exclusively with its client to appoint a Finance Manager into a key leadership role. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this position plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality financial insight and ensuring robust financial control. You will manage a small team, and support strategic decision-making through accurate and timely reporting. The organisation is a well-established and growing manufacturing business and is part of a wider international group across a diverse customer base. This is a hands-on role, combining financial control, team management, and business partnering. There is a clear succession plan, with scope to progress into a Senior Leadership Team position over time as the business continues to grow. Key Responsibilities: Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis, and insight to senior leadership Prepare and review monthly management accounts, forecasts, and variance analysis Lead group reporting requirements, ensuring deadlines are met with accuracy Oversee the day-to-day finance function, maintaining strong controls and processes Manage, coach, and develop a small finance team, ensuring clear roles and accountability Review team outputs to ensure accuracy and timely completion of tasks Support budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning processes Maintain balance sheet integrity through reconciliations and regular review Ensure compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements Support year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors Identify and drive continuous improvements across finance systems and processes Provide ad hoc financial analysis and business support as required About You: Qualified accountant (or qualified by experience) Strong background in management accounting and financial control Proven ability to meet tight reporting deadlines Experience managing or supervising a finance team Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insight Confident working with senior stakeholders Highly organised with strong attention to detail Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP/finance systems What’s on Offer: Clear succession planning opportunity, with scope to progress into a Senior Leadership Team position over time as the business continues to grow A senior finance role within a stable and growing organisation Direct exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making Opportunity to lead and develop a capable finance team Broad role with involvement across operations, commercial, and group reporting Competitive salary and benefits package Remuneration and Benefits: £Competitive Pension contribution (up to 6.5%) Life assurance Private health insurance For more information on this role, please contact Ally Deas at Rutherford Cross.
