An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior nurse to join the Medicine, Urgent Care Division at Stockport Foundation Trust within the role of substantive Matron in order to support the senior nursing team in ensuring high quality care continues to be delivered.
You will be a highly visible leader, able to evidence how you have positively influenced nursing and patient care in current and previous roles.
You will be working with a dynamic, busy and friendly nursing team within the Division of Medicine, Clinical Support & Emergency Department that includes diabetes, stroke, complex medicine, care of the elderly, pharmacy and the outpatient services. This is an opportunity to display your leadership skills within a diverse population of patients receiving care from engaged and motivated teams

Main duties of the job

You should be passionate about nursing and want to make a difference and will be value driven and place them central to all service provision. You will be an experienced senior nurse with experience at matron level desirable but not essential, who has also held previous senior leadership roles and have a proven record of delivering high quality care for patients to enhance service users' experience and promote positive health outcomes.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, clear decision making capabilities, be a vocal advocate for the patient and have current knowledge and expertise in the care of patients in medical context.

Educated to Masters degree level, or currently working towards a Masters degree, or equivalent experience.
Evidence of continuing personal and professional development

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £ This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
