Groundworker / Plant Operator / Drainage Gang (Civil Engineering) – Cannock WS11
Job Type: Long-term Contract / Permanent • Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 16:30
Responsibilities
* Groundworkers: Setting out, concrete laying, formwork, kerbing, slab laying, and general groundworks duties to specification.
* Plant Operators: Safe and efficient operation of machinery such as Excavators, Diggers, Dumpers, and Rollers. Experience with GPS systems is advantageous.
* Drainage Gangs / Pipelayers: Installation of foul and surface water drainage systems, including excavation, bedding, laying pipes (uPVC and concrete), and constructing manholes/chambers.
* Work effectively as part of a team to ensure project deadlines are met.
* Adhere strictly to all Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations on site.
* Read and interpret engineering drawings.
Essential Requirements & Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Groundworker, Plant Operator, or Drainage Operative / Pipelayer on civil engineering projects.
* For Drainage roles: Valid Confined Spaces certification (Medium Risk preferred).
* For Plant roles: Relevant CPCS/NPORS certification is essential.
* A valid Safety Critical Medical certificate is mandatory.
* Must be able to pass and comply with regular, random drugs and alcohol tests.
* Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with a positive attitude.
* Own PPE (Hard Hat, Hi-Vis, Boots, etc.).
