An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Community Paediatrics Service as a nurse specialist in Paediatric Continence. We are looking for an experienced and motivated children's nurse to join our dynamic Children's Community Nursing Service. The applicant will require vision to set up a new Nurse-led service, ensuring delivery of high- quality care. Proven leadership and change management skills will be essential to establish a service which puts children and young people at the heart of care planning. A thorough and sound knowledge base of continence will be vital to deliver seamless family centred care from childhood through to transitioning into adulthood if required.
* To work as an autonomous practitioner
* To provide evidence-based care, demonstrating knowledge and experience in the care of children and young people with bladder and bowel dysfunction to inform care planning
* To provide opportunity for children and young people to achieve continence
* To demonstrate empathy, promoting dignity and respect to empower the child or young person to develop skills to self-care and become independent
* To have understanding of the psychological, mental health and education impact on the child or young person
* To have good understanding of neurological and developmental diversity
* To work in partnership with adult services to establish transition pathways
* To act as an expert resource across the Health Board delivering education and training
* To establish links with Tertiary paediatric bowel and bladder services
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
