School of Engineering, College of Science & Engineering / Institute for Integrated Micro & Nano Systems (IMNS)
Fixed term contract until 31 March 2028.
Full time - 35 hours per week.
This Research Associate position will contribute to the ADIA2 project within the IMNS institute at the University of Edinburgh, which is funded by DSTL. The role is subject to DSTL security clearance checks and appointment will be subject to candidates successfully completing these checks as well as right to work in the UK checks.
Your Skills and Attributes for Success
* Tape‑out experience – an essential requirement.
* Good grasp of the digital IC design flow.
* Good scripting skills (e.g. SKILL & Ocean Script).
* Good communication skills including writing technical reports, papers and presenting technical work.
* Ability and initiative to generate and test ideas.
Required Tape‑out Portfolio
Applicants will be expected to provide a tape‑out portfolio. The portfolio should include at least:
* Technology used (e.g. TSMC180 nm or GF22 nm).
* Module(s) you have personally worked on (e.g. operational amplifier, multiply–accumulate unit, etc.).
* Stage(s) of the flow where you have contributed (e.g. specification set‑up, schematics, design, layout, verification, testing, …).
* Nature of your contribution (sole‑designer, team member with responsibility for X, Y, Z, …).
* (Optionally) Outcomes of the work.
If invited for interview you will be required to evidence your right to work in the UK.
Interviews will be held TBC.
