Gleeson has partnered with an engineering business looking for a Hire Coordinator. The business seeks a professional eager to advance in a high-growth, fast-paced environment with opportunities for skill and career development based in Birmingham.
Job Title: Hire Controller
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £27,000-£30,000 + Benefits
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure timely and accurate supply of plant and equipment to meet site requirements as per schedules.
* Verify availability of company-owned plant before confirming hires, where applicable.
* Utilize cost-effective solutions to fulfill equipment orders.
* Take ownership of arising issues, resolving them effectively and promptly.
* Communicate with site teams regarding delivery schedules and equipment details.
* Replace externally hired equipment with internal fleet items where viable.
* Collaborate with the Plant Manager on damage or loss charges.
* Stay informed about new plant products and services to support operations.
* Manage supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with company standards and safety protocols.
* Handle operational queries efficiently and promptly.
Ideal Candidate:
* Strong understanding of plant equipment and operations.
* Experience in plant hire processes, including coordinating movement and haulage.
* Background in the construction industry is highly desirable.
