Overview
We are looking for a Health Care Support Worker to join our District Nursing Team in Hillingdon, Greater London. You will be a valued member of the community nursing team and receive training and support on a multitude of clinical skills, including wound care management, leg ulcer management, vascular assessments, compression bandaging, catheterisation (female and suprapubic) and basic life support.
Responsibilities
* Support registered nurses in delivering high‑quality clinical care and rehabilitation to patients in their own homes.
* Provide patient‑centred care, building good relationships with patients, families and carers.
* Work independently in patients' homes under the supervision of nurses, applying clinical skills and knowledge.
* Collaborate in partnership with the multidisciplinary Integrated Care Team.
* Maintain autonomous working awareness and adhere to infection control and safety standards.
Qualifications
* NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent care qualification, or extensive experience in caring.
* Confidence and professionalism in a community setting.
* Ability to work independently with nursing supervision.
* Good knowledge of wound care, leg ulcer management and basic clinical procedures.
Working Hours & Conditions
37.5 hours per week on a rota system covering 08:00 hrs – 18:00 hrs, including at least one weekend in four. The service operates 7 days a week.
Access to a car and a clean UK driving licence are essential.
Development & Support
