Salary: £28,000
Main Objectives:
•To report directly to the manager with complete trust and honesty
•Flexibility & adaptability to the needs of the business on the day
•To play a crucial role to ensure the total performance of the day to day communications within the company
•To always adopt the highest level of professionalism to carry out the duties expected of them
•To maintain a consistently high standard of cleanliness, presentation, and upkeep across all guest accommodation and shared outdoor areas
•To ensure guests experience a welcoming, comfortable and well maintained environment at all times
•To act as a positive, professional point of contact for guests when on site, representing the business in a friendly and helpful manner
•To support the smooth day-to-day operation of the site through proactive cleaning, basic maintenance, and grounds care
•To identify, report, and where appropriate resolve issues relating to cleanliness, safety, maintenance, or guest comfort
•Follow all health and safety procedures, risk assessments and company policies
•Use PPE where required and work in a safe, responsible manner
•Ensure compliance with COSHH and safe manual handling practices
•Maintain high standards of personal presentation and conduct at all times
Duties and responsibilities:
Self-Management
•To manage time effectively and work independently, ensuring all duties are completed to the required standard without close supervision.
•To support the smooth operation of the site by flexibly managing working hours in line with seasonal demand, occupancy levels, and business needs.
•Take responsibility for self-managing working time, planning tasks efficiently to meet operational requirements.
•During quieter periods (typically winter months), be prepared to leave early or reduce hours where work is completed, with the expectation that these hours will be made up during busier periods (typically peak season), subject to manager approval.
•Demonstrate flexibility in working hours, including additional hours during periods of high occupancy, peak seasons, or when cottages are fully booked.
•Be responsible for arranging suitable cover during periods of annual leave, ensuring continuity of cleaning and site standards at all times.
•Arrange additional cover when required, for example during periods of full occupancy, increased changeovers, or exceptional demand, in line with business needs and with management agreement.
•Ensure any cover arranged is competent, briefed on standards and approved by management where required.
Cleaning & Housekeeping
•Full responsibility of thorough cleaning of guest accommodation between stays, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and living areas
•Deep cleaning of areas and appliances as and when required or directed to do so
•Clean and maintain communal areas, games rooms, entrances, storage areas and staff facilities as required
•Full clean of hot tub, chemical balancing and water change (as necessary)
•Replenish consumables such as toiletries, cleaning supplies
•Follow cleaning checklists, schedules, and hygiene procedures at all times
oProviding photos and completion of checklist to manager by COP
•Ensure all cleaning equipment and products are used safely and stored correctly
Groundskeeping & External Areas
•Maintain outdoor areas to a high standard, including lawns, pathways, patios, seating areas, and parking areas
•Carry out routine tasks such as litter picking, sweeping, weeding, watering and basic garden maintenance
•Monitor outdoor areas for hazards and report any safety concerns immediately
•Assist with seasonal tasks such as leaf clearing, gritting in winter or basic planting as required
Guest-Facing Responsibilities
•Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner when encountered on site
•Respond politely and helpfully to basic guest queries, directing more 'unresolvable' complex issues to management where appropriate
•Maintain discretion and respect guest privacy at all times
•Act as "eyes and ears" on site, reporting guest feedback, issues, or concerns to management.
Maintenance & Site Support
•Carry out basic maintenance tasks where trained to do so e.g. (but not limited to) repairs, changing light bulbs, checking outdoor furniture and reporting defects
•Identify and report maintenance issues, damage, or wear and tear promptly
•Assist with setting up or preparing accommodation and outdoor areas for arrivals and departures
