Join us as a Youth Support Officer in one of our Secondary Schools. You will work with young people in secondary schools across the Newport area, helping them thrive academically and personally. Pupils may have Additional Learning Needs (ALN) or require extra support to thrive in the classroom. Your role is to build strong, positive relationships with students — acting as a mentor and communicating effectively to help them feel understood and supported. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with ALN and behavioural challenges, offering consistent emotional and academic support throughout the school day. This opportunity will enhance your knowledge and understanding for your future in Education as a whole.

Requirements & Qualifications
We are ideally looking for applicants with some relevant experience in areas such as sports coaching, babysitting, care work, or youth support. If you have other transferable skills and can demonstrate them at interview, we’d love to hear from you.
* Enhanced DBS on the update service
* Education Workforce Regulation registration (EWC)
* Aged 18 and over
* Level 2 Safeguarding
* 2 professional references covering a 24-month period of employment (or equivalent)
