Introduction to Strategy and Partnerships Team
The Strategy and Partnerships Team focuses on developing andimplementing strategic initiatives to advance the Hospices mission and expandits impact. The team builds and nurtures partnerships with key stakeholders,including healthcare providers, government agencies, corporate sponsors, andcommunity organisations, to enhance service delivery, raise awareness, andsecure resources for the hospices. We also analyse market trends, conductresearch, and develop long-term plans to ensure the sustainability and growthof Shooting Star Children's Hospices.
Part 1: Job Profile
a) Mainpurpose of job
Shooting Star Childrens Hospices (SSCH) has an ambitious 5year strategy with a number of key objectives and targets.
The project manager will be responsible for the managementand delivery of a number of projects aligned to our Strategy and to support thedevelopment of change capability across the organisation by promoting bestpractice. This will include managing projects through lifecycle (both new &existing) and taking responsibility for delivering on time, to budget &according to customer expectations/standards
b) Workrelationships
The post holder reports to the Head of Strategy andPartnerships and will be responsible for supporting temporary project teamsbrought together to deliver specific projects. They will support teams acrossthe organisation in the coordination and delivery of projects, within budget,scope and to the timings agreed.
This is an important role which requires someone who canwork across multiple projects and promote successful cross-functional working.
This role will support organisational projects that havebeen classified as requiring centralised project management resource. This mayinclude projects from any area of the organisation including Clinical Services,Income Generation, Volunteering, IT, Marketing and Digital, Finance, People andCulture and Strategy and Partnerships.

- Supportteams across the organisation in the coordination and delivery of projects,within budget, scope and to the timings agreed.
Part 2: Main duties and key responsibilities
a) To be thedesignated Project Manager for any strategic organisational change projects
Deliver projects across the organisation, on time, withinbudget and to the agreed scope.
- Workwith project teams to develop project plans and documentation and guide teamsthrough the project lifecycle.
- Ensureproject roles and responsibilities are established for each project and ensureall stakeholders are aware of the project management processes that they willparticipate in.
- Manageproject risks, issues and changes and monitor project progress, ensuringstakeholders are updated and everyone can meet their required deliverableswithin the project timescales.
- Responsiblefor identifying and managing stakeholder engagement and communication needs.
- Produceregular progress reports for all stakeholders including project teams, DirectorTeam, Organisational Leadership Team and Trustees, escalating risks and issueswhere necessary.
- Leadproject reviews to capture successes and learnings and ensure project outcomesare embedded into Business as Usual (BAU).
- Managethe costs and budgets assigned to the projects.
- Planresources (internal and external) to deliver the change, negotiating withinternal managers if necessary.
- Developa reporting suite or use other project management tools to help track andmonitor progress.
b) Otherduties
- The postholder must be able and willing to get to and work in both hospices
- The post holder should be prepared to attendmeetings in different parts of the country.Some meetings may be during evenings or weekends.
