Overview
MIG Welder / Fabricator – North Shields. This role is with Marshalls Landscape Protection, part of the Marshalls Group, producing protective street furniture to support safe and aesthetically pleasing urban spaces. The base pay range is provided in the job posting; actual pay is based on skills and experience and discussed with the recruiter.
Responsibilities
* Support the production of a wide range of protective street furniture and counter-terrorism products.
* Work in the busy manufacturing department and, when required, cover other areas of the North Shields site to support colleagues’ holidays or absences.
* Dress welds to a high standard and carry out basic fabrication tasks as applicable.
* Read and interpret drawings; work with initiative and maintain good communication with team members at all levels.
Qualifications & Skills
* Previous experience in MIG welding of mild steel, typically 2 mm to 20 mm thick.
* Previous experience in a factory or manufacturing environment.
* Ability to work independently with initiative and strong communication skills.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
