Description Housing and Homelessness Service Homelessness Warden (Units) - Various Locations Salary: £26,337 - £28,835 (working time payments £8,368.17 annually and based at current rates (unsocial hours £4,868.13 plus disruption payment of £3,500.04) Hours: Average 36 per week (shift working required) The City of Edinburgh Council operate four hostels across the city and Homelessness Wardens provide a vital service in each project by offering advice and support whilst ensuring the accommodation is safe, secure, and clean. We are seeking individuals who can make and maintain strong and effective relationships with their colleagues and our residents some of whom will have multiple and complex support needs and a history of trauma. Our hostels can be a challenging work environment, and our Homelessness Wardens often work without direct supervision as such we need people with strong interpersonal skills as well as the ability de-escalate potentially contentious situations calmly and effectively. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check.
