Our nurturing special school in Eccles, Salford is looking for a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our committed team.
About the Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with class teachers and other professionals to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of SEMH needs. You'll help pupils to engage positively with learning, build trusting relationships, and develop confidence and emotional resilience.
Your role will include:
Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
Assisting with learning activities and classroom management.
Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies.
Contributing to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
Experienced or passionate about working with children with SEMH or additional needs.
Calm, patient, and able to respond positively to challenging situations.
A strong communicator and team player.
Committed to helping every child achieve, regardless of barriers to learning.
Relevant qualifications (such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent) are desirable, but training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
