The salary for this role is £50,431 + shift allowance
About the role
The Engineering team look after a range of airport equipment, contributing to the smooth operation of Edinburgh Airport. Our Engineering Technicians play a key part in this, enabling the delivery of a high quality, reliable service to passengers, tenants and other internal / external customers, through effective and efficient maintenance of airport assets and infrastructure, including in our security hall, baggage hall, and runway systems. This includes completion of work in accordance with current Edinburgh Airport processes and contributing towards the continuous improvement of the maintenance service.
Alongside daily planned and reactive maintenance, other responsibilities include: troubleshooting the baggage system to keep bags moving where they need to go, maintaining the runway lights that guide aircraft safely in all conditions, supporting the security hall with reliable equipment to keep passengers flowing, and supporting sustainability by maintaining power and energy systems.

About the Recruitment Process
The recruitment process for this role will be comprised of a 2 stage interview process. Firstly a Teams interview with our Senior Engineering Manager – Operations and Performance and a member of our Engineering team, which will include competency, values and technical questions. For successful candidates, there will be a second interview, in person, where you will get the opportunity to come on site, and tour the campus with members of our Engineering team.

What you'll be doing
* Undertake planned or reactive maintenance work on engineering facility assets, meeting agreed service levels and support smooth day-to-day operations, applying the skills and knowledge required for the task. This includes inspecting assets which are not working as needed, assessing and reporting what work is required and undertaking that work.
* Undertake facility maintenance tasks out with core skill, as required with support
* Identify and prioritise opportunities for "productivity" performance improvement, and develop and deliver plans to achieve these improvements. Use existing Edinburgh Airport IT and work management systems (for example iAuditor and INFOR) as required. This includes receiving and closing down work orders and entering accurate data and use maintenance system data to understand individual, team and asset performance.
* Demonstrate and promote working practices which ensure a safe working environment for self and others, contributing to the development of a safety culture, through participation in safety management system, and adhering to mandatory regulations and safety procedures.
* Engage proactively in any work associated with delivering performance improvements within the engineering environment.
* Continuously develop and learn new skills as required to facilitate the maintenance and operation of new equipment and technology introduced to Edinburgh Airport to ensure that they are maintained in a manner which keeps them performing at an appropriate level.
What we're looking for
* Electrical/Mechanical qualification to ONC/HNC level, time served apprentice or equivalent
* Full UK driving license
* Experience with service and maintenance on mechanical / electrical systems
* Experience of working in an Engineering environment
* Full and assessed knowledge of any relevant National or Edinburgh Airport regulations or standards, including 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
