Overview
Painter/Decorator role at Amey, Stoke Heath, England, United Kingdom. This is a permanent position based on-site with free parking facilities available. The role supports the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) account in HMYOI Stoke Heath.
There is a requirement to work 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis, with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.
Your Responsibilities
* Planned and reactive paint work in all areas of the prison.
* Responsibility for the care and maintenance of tools, materials and additional company property.
* Compliance with relevant company Health & Safety Policy, instructions and directive.
* Support local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner where appropriate.
* Ensure H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
What makes this role unique
You will ensure all works are carried out to the highest safety standards, sometimes working alongside and supervising the work of prisoners. Prison Security Clearance will be required (Amey will support you through this process).
What we are looking for
* Must be a fully qualified Painter.
* Previous relevant work-related experience.
* Good awareness and understanding of personal health and safety, method statements and risk assessments.
* Comfortable working alongside prisoners.
* Ideally NVQ level 3 in Painting and Decorating, or NVQ level 2 consideration.
It would be desirable to be comfortable working alongside prisoners and to have experience sharing best practice with others; development will be provided to bring you up to speed if needed.
