PA/HR Assistant to Managing Director | Customer Care Expert
Description of Position
The Purchasing Manager is an integral part of not only the production process but also the overall success of the business. Overseeing a team of 2, they are responsible for sourcing raw materials, CNC machined components & soft goods for three group companies, ensuring the most competitive prices and lead times. The role involves managing the worldwide supply chain and estimating, making it ideal for someone with prior machining experience who has progressed from a shopfloor environment into the office. Strong negotiating skills, networking, experience with Microsoft Excel, mathematical ability, and knowledge of sustainability, risk management, and ethical issues are highly desirable. Since most of the company’s revenue is spent on procurement, the candidate can significantly impact cost savings and profits. We welcome candidates with relevant skills and experience who wish to join a rapidly developing business within a friendly team environment. Full product training will be provided to support your development in this role.
Key requirements include:
1. A proven track record of MRP management, cost cutting, and procurement control
2. A good understanding of CNC (Milling & Turning)
3. High competence in Microsoft Excel
4. A methodical and process-driven approach with a modern mindset
5. A “can do” attitude and approachability
6. Willingness to assist in problem solving
7. Full UK Drivers Licence
8. MUST BE ABLE TO COMMUTE TO BRIGHOUSE, HD6
Highly Desirable Skills
* Degree / CIPS qualification or 5+ years in a similar role within the oil & gas industry
* 3 years management experience
* Valve knowledge
* Raw material knowledge (Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, Duplex, Nickel Alloys, etc.)

This role is ideal for a motivated candidate eager to enhance skills in a rapidly growing business. Overseas travel may be required for supplier visits.
Working Hours
38.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am – 4:45 pm, with a lunch break from 12:30 to 1:00 pm (or as required). Employees are entitled to 33 days of annual leave, including flexible, statutory, and end-of-year shutdown holidays.
