HSL was formed to provide pathology services to the NHS Trusts and has expanded further to provide services to other NHS Trusts. Over 3,500 staff work at Sonic Healthcare UK, primarily under the TDL or HSL banner.

With our core laboratory based at The Halo Building in London WC1H 9AX, we also have an expanding site in Manchester as well as smaller hospital-based laboratories across the country. We maintain rigorously high standards of quality, whilst also delivering efficiencies to healthcare through careful workforce planning, pioneering technology and significant investment in infrastructure and IT.

About the role:

Following the commencement of a project to change HR and Payroll systems, an opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Assistant to join a growing, fast paced, friendly Payroll team at TDL, based in central London.

We would particularly like to hear from you if you have:
* Keen eye for detail
* Excellent communication skills both spoken and written.
* Good knowledge of Payroll and the ability to advise on best practice in general payroll related matters.
* Previous experience of working in a Payroll Administration role.
* Good all round payroll knowledge.
* Experience of working in both a public and private sector Payroll Department is preferred, particularly a private sector organisation with NHS pension scheme members.
The scope of your role will include:
* Playing an integral part in the delivery of quality Payroll administrative support across the group.
* Part of a 6-person team providing advice and guidance to staff on all payroll related matters and be the key point of contact for all payroll matters.
* The role will mainly involve general Payroll administration of all 9 pay groups pension schemes, including the processing of new joiners, leavers and pay changes.
* Handling manual calculations, including statutory payments and adjustments.
* Ensuring compliance with UK payroll legislation and internal controls.
What you will need to succeed:
* Proven experience in UK payroll processing.
* Strong understanding of payroll legislation and manual calculations.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Experience processing with starters and leavers.
* Strong communication skills for handling queries and working with HR/Finance.
* Experience of using CoreHR and Workday (desirable not essential)
* Be a quick learner with the ability to adapt to new tasks and tools.
We operate a hybrid working model and require a presence in the office 3 days a week (or more frequently when the business requirements demand).
