Working hours: Full time – 39.5 hours per week (excluding meal breaks). Rotating shift pattern: Week 1 and 2 – 06:00‑14:30 Monday‑Thursday and 06:00‑14:00 Friday; Week 3 – 13:30‑22:00 Monday‑Thursday and 12:00‑20:00 Friday. 1 in 3 Saturdays 06:00‑14:00 (with a weekday day off).

About the role
Reporting to the Fleet Workshop Manager, the Shift Supervisor provides pivotal support to the Workshop management team. The key responsibilities include leading operations across a shift in line with production planning and control requirements, deploying agreed processes and staff resources to ensure the Workshop operates safely and delivers high levels of quality and efficiency.
- Deliver Weekly Team Meetings, shift huddles and support the remedial approach to conduct issues while ensuring technicians’ wellbeing post‑sick absence
- Perform a full range of inspections, diagnostic, maintenance and repair procedures on a range of vehicles, trailers and mechanical equipment when required
- Use personal toolkit to undertake routine maintenance and repair on light and heavy goods vehicles, with access to specialist tooling and shared equipment in the modern workshops
- Execute effective stock control processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion of work orders and associated vehicle documentation to meet both business and legal requirements
About you
- Experienced leader: Managed a team of vehicle technicians with excellent knowledge of H&S and communicated technical issues to the team
- Qualified mechanic: Fully qualified to an advanced level (IMI Level 3 in Light or Heavy vehicle or equivalent) with own standard‑repair toolkit
- Varied vehicle experience: Proven vehicle technician experience working on a wide range of vehicles, for example LCV/HGV
- Valid UK driving licence: Full manual UK driving licence, preferably an HGV licence with trailer experience
- High working standards: Pride in work and ability to ensure the job is done effectively
- Flexible to service demands: Able to work on a flexible shift rota and support the team where necessary
