Overview
Assistant or Associate Professor (Power Electronics) – Power Electronics & Control, University of Warwick. The post is on the Research and Teaching Pathway with potential for part-time or flexible working arrangements where possible.
Responsibilities
* Develop and lead high-quality research in power converter design, modelling, hardware realisation, and control, with relevance to electrification challenges (renewable energy systems, electric vehicles, sustainable transport).
* Engage in research that contributes to the field while addressing real-world, industrial challenges and potentially cross-disciplinary work.
* Align research with the School’s activities and opportunities within the Research Technology Platforms and established infrastructure; contribute to collaborative, translational, and industrially engaged research environments.
* Teach to a high standard on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by the School of Engineering.
* Initiate, develop and deliver high-quality research, publish in top-tier journals, and demonstrate potential for impact; engage with higher education pedagogy and adopt innovative teaching methods.
Qualifications and requirements
* PhD in a relevant discipline.
* For an Assistant Professor appointment: demonstrated potential to establish an independent research activity with ambition to become internationally leading.
* For an Associate Professor appointment: established high-quality independent research activity, experience in obtaining external research funding, and demonstrated success in teaching delivery.
* Ability to contribute to teaching across undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes.
