Job Description:We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Science to lead a forward-thinking Science department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality Science lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5, supporting staff development, and driving student achievement. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated leader to make a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the Science department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
2. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective Science lessons.
3. Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
4. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
5. Support and mentor Science teachers within the department.
6. Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement curriculum strategies.
7. Promote a love of scientific inquiry and discovery across the schoolmunity.
Requirements:
8. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
9. A degree in a Science discipline or a related field.
10. Proven experience teaching Science at secondary level, including KS5.
11. Previous leadership or middle management experience is desirable.
12. Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science.
13. Excellentmunication and interpersonal skills.
14. Amitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
15. All successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
