GSL Education are seeking compassionate and motivated Psychology graduates to support children with special educational needs (SEN) in primary schools across Seaford. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in education and mental health while positively impacting students' development and well-being.
About the Role
As a Psychology Graduate in an SEN support role, you will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Your role will involve:
* Supporting students one-on-one or in small groups to enhance their learning and emotional development
* Assisting in the delivery of interventions focused on emotional regulation, communication, and social skills
* Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
* Monitoring student progress and contributing to support plans
* Collaborating with external professionals such as speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, and family support workers
Requirements
* A degree in Psychology or a related field
* Experience working with children or young people, particularly in educational or care settings
* A genuine interest in SEN, mental health, and inclusive education
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
* Additional training in safeguarding, SEN, or mental health is advantageous
