Job Summary
The role is responsible for the measurement and implementation of Standard Minute Values across a network of garment factories in Asia, Africa and Central America to facilitate accurate measurement of production efficiency at individual, line and factory level. You will be based in our Thurnscoe office and will be supported by a team of industrial engineers in the factories. You will manage and develop the team to meet KPIs and maintain a database of SMVs for use across the factory network. In addition, you will challenge and improve production methods to improve efficiencies through innovation and improved processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a small team of Industrial Engineers based overseas
* Measuring and implementing new Standard Minute Values (SMVs) and maintaining an SMV database in a Product Lifetime Management (PLM) system
* Monitoring factory efficiency performance and driving continuous improvements
* Implementing and monitoring operator incentive schemes in factories
* Conducting overseas factory visits, setting up production systems and training
* Collaborating with factories, product team and supply chain to improve processes (innovation)
* Attending machinery shows where necessary
Requirements
* A third level qualification in Industrial Engineering with a preference for Garment Technology
* Experience working as an Industrial Engineer in a factory
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills
* Strong attention to detail
* Good problem‑solving abilities
* Experience in using a Product Lifetime Management system and ERP system
