Position Overview The Training Programme Director reports to the Head of School and is professionally and managerially accountable to the Postgraduate Dean. This role focuses on improving learner supervision, assessment and experience, engaging faculty and ensuring effective educational outcomes. The position will also lead whole‑workforce transformation and develop multi‑professional links across health and social care.
Key Responsibilities Ensure high standards of education and training, meeting the General Medical Council and other national bodies’ requirements for training posts and programmes.
Deliver an integrated workforce comprising individuals from a spectrum of professional and other backgrounds.
Lead national vision, policies and processes for effective educational quality management.
Manage budgets, ensuring objectives are met and contributing to budget savings when required.
Maintain Code of Practice Guidelines and provide accurate guidance to trainees on OOP/IDTs/LTFT/Acting up applications.
Develop an effective network of communication and collaboration with all relevant stakeholders locally, regionally and nationally.
Key Qualifications Essential experience in management of postgraduate training programmes within NHS health and social care.
Strong knowledge of national educational policies and workforce development initiatives.
Proven ability to lead multi‑professional teams and work collaboratively with clinical faculty and other educational bodies.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and stakeholder network development skills.
