Trainee Bid Writer
Location: Coventry, CV4 8JP
Salary: £26,000 - £27,000
Contract type: Permanent, Full Time (Hybrid Working)
Working hours: 40 hours per week, 08:30 - 17:00, Monday - Friday

About the role

Manpower are recruiting on behalf of our client for a motivated Trainee Bid Writer to join their business as part of their Management Development Programme. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to develop a long-term career in commercial management, business development, and strategic growth within the green services sector.

The role offers valuable exposure to operational teams, estimating, finance, sustainability, and senior leadership, providing a strong foundation for future management progression and career development. The successful candidate will receive structured training, mentoring, and hands-on experience supporting the preparation of high-quality tenders and proposals across both public and private sector contracts.

Responsibilities with full training from Tender Team -

1. Support the preparation and submission of PQQs, SQs, ITTs, and tender responses
2. Research client organisations, contract requirements, and market opportunities
3. Draft clear, compelling, and compliant written responses
4. Coordinate information from operational, HSEQ, finance, and sustainability teams
5. Gather supporting evidence such as case studies, CVs, and documentation
6. Maintain and update the bid library and knowledge database
7. Assist with document formatting, proofreading, and quality control
8. Track submission deadlines to ensure timely delivery
9. Attend internal tender review and strategy meetings
10. Contribute to improving bid processes and documentation

11. A confident written communicator with excellent grammar
12. Ambitious with a desire to build a career in commercial management or business development
13. Analytical and able to interpret technical information - Highly organised with strong attention to detail
14. Comfortable working to deadlines & a collaborative team player
15. Proactive, motivated, and eager to learn


Skills & Experience


16. Strong written and verbal communication skills
17. Good IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
18. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
19. Interest in business development and the green services sector
20. Degree (or working towards) in English, Business, Geography, Marketing, Environmental Management, or similar, advanatageous but not a must
21. Experience in administration, writing, marketing, or research is desirable
