Job Title – Sales Support Manager (Maternity Cover)
Location – Cardiuff – Covering Midlands & South West region
Hours of Work – 40 hours per week, with some weekend working required.

We are seeking to recruit a Sales Support Manager to join our team, initially covering maternity leave with the possibility of becoming full‑time. The role will be based in Cardiff and will require some travel within the division, which includes the Midlands, Wales and South West of England. Candidates will have a background in healthcare, cosmetics or high‑end retail, a minimum of 5 years management experience, and a strong focus on driving performance improvement with their teams. As your main role will be to manage the performance of our clinic teams, previous clinic management experience is ideal.
Duties will include:
* Conducting clinic visits where you will observe day‑to‑day operations from a front‑of‑house and surgical service delivery perspective, including the manager’s brief, daily set‑up, patient service, clinic flow and consultation observations with feedback.
* Ensuring the clinic and treatment centre team provides safe, effective, caring and responsive patient care in a high‑quality clinical environment consistently, while maximizing financial and operational performance.
* Overseeing and undertaking any new manager inductions and introductions to our brands, including Optical Express, sk:n and The Harley Medical Group.
* Participating fully in staff recruitment and supporting Hospital/Clinic Managers as required.
* Ensuring clinics are presentable, maintain a high standard of tidiness and cleanliness, and promote the professional image of Optical Express at all times.
* Ensuring all clinics/practices within the division receive adequate support for day‑to‑day running.
* Conducting select HR investigations, disciplinary hearings and ad‑hoc HR meetings such as probation reviews, flexible working applications and wellbeing meetings.
* Acting as the first point of contact for hospitals/clinics wishing to obtain a discount or finance authorization.
* Assisting other Sales Support Managers and Sales Directors during periods of absence or annual leave.
* Maximizing conversion opportunities with patients for premier treatments in refractive and optical products, and ensuring the clinic team advises patients on the most suitable solutions for their needs.
