Senior Payroll Assistant
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid – 2 days in office)
Contract: 6-Month Fixed Term Contract
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (pro rata)
Anderson Knight is recruiting a Senior Payroll Assistant on behalf of a well-established organisation based in Glasgow. This 6-month fixed-term contract offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join a supportive team with flexible hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities:

End-to-end processing of payroll, including year-end activities and P11Ds
*
Applying strong payroll knowledge across statutory payments, deductions, and compliance requirements
*
Administration and management of pension contributions and auto-enrolment
*
Performing manual payroll calculations where required
*
Handling payroll data using Excel, including reconciliations and reporting
*
Acting as a key point of contact for payroll queries, demonstrating strong communication skills
*
Supporting problem-solving activities to resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently
*
Demonstrating good initiative in identifying and implementing process improvements
*
Assisting with payroll system implementation projects (desirable but not essential)
Skills & Experience Required:
*
Proven experience in a senior or experienced payroll role
*
Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation
*
High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
*
Confident user of payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
*
Proactive, solutions-focused approach
