Be the Difference. Support the Future.
At The Cambridge Care Company, we've been supporting young people and vulnerable individuals for over 19 years. As an Ofsted-registered supported accommodation provider, we are passionate about delivering high-quality, consistent, and aspirational care to children and care-experienced young people aged 16–17.
We are looking for Support & Key Workers who are committed to empowering young people – including asylum seekers and those with complex backgrounds – to thrive in safe, inclusive, and nurturing environments.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Support & Key Worker, you'll be a trusted adult in a young person's life – providing 1:1 support, promoting independence, and playing a key role in helping them transition to adulthood.
Your role will include:
* Providing emotional, social, and practical support to young people aged 16+
* Acting as a key worker for individual young people – managing support plans, goals, and records
* Delivering life skills sessions (e.g., budgeting, cooking, personal care)
* Advocating for young people's rights and wellbeing in education, health, and legal settings
* Lone working within accommodation settings with management and on-call support
* Supporting and promoting safeguarding in line with statutory and company procedures
* Liaising with Children's Services, schools, health teams, and community agencies
* Encouraging participation in activities that build confidence and a sense of belonging
* Keeping accurate records on our secure digital systems
What We're Looking For
We value passion and potential. If you're committed to making a difference, we'll provide the training and support.
Essential:
* Experience working with young people or vulnerable individuals
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication and record-keeping skills
* Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
* Commitment to upholding the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023 and Ofsted quality standards
Desirable:
* NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or equivalent
* Experience supporting care leavers, asylum-seeking children, or those with complex needs
* Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)
Why Join Us?
* Meaningful Work: You'll directly impact a young person's life at a critical stage
* Supportive Team: Regular supervision, reflective practice, and on-call management
* Career Development: Ongoing training and CPD opportunities
* Inclusive Culture: We celebrate diversity and value lived experience
* Established Provider: Family-run, 19 years of experience, Ofsted-regulated
