Hours: 37 hours per week

Job Description

Requirements

You will have a degree in Energy Management, Facilities Management, Building Services, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the post.


Responsibilities

You will assist with the effective procurement and consumption of energy and water in the City Council’s properties, in accordance with the City Council’s sustainability policies and best practices. You will contribute to providing a comprehensive energy management service, including property inspection and reporting, works supervision, contract procurement, monitoring, and targeting regimes (including energy supply). You will communicate the aims and objectives of the City Council's energy policy to staff, customers, and service suppliers.


The Individual

You will have relevant post-qualification experience in energy management, with the ability to identify problems and develop innovative, cost-effective solutions. You should be capable of producing clear and concise technical and non-technical reports. You will have practical knowledge of energy and water efficiency, current regulations, best practices, control and building management systems, building fabric, services, and installations. Experience with energy surveying/auditing, metering, monitoring, and reporting is essential. Knowledge of climate change challenges, renewable energy technologies, current energy policies, funding streams, and software packages is also required. You should have good communication skills, be willing to develop new skills, work under pressure, and organize your workload effectively. Willingness to undertake training and diagnostic skills is also essential.
