Interim Senior Commercial Manager Location: Hybrid and in London or York Working Pattern: 3 days per week in-office Contract: 6 months (likelihood of extension) Rate: Up to £600/day (Umbrella, inside IR35) The Role: A major UK infrastructure organisation is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to play a pivotal role within a high-profile rail programme. This is a commercially critical position acting as the bridge between day-to-day supplier performance and long-term strategic partnerships across a complex supply chain. You'll operate at the heart of a regulated environment, influencing commercial outcomes, managing risk, and ensuring value delivery across both internal and third-party funded activities. Acting as the key commercial interface between tactical supplier management and strategic supply chain partnerships Navigating and advising within a regulated, multi-stakeholder environment Supporting and evaluating procurement activity across varied funding models Managing cost control, forecasting, and financial profiling Leading risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies Contributing to programme and schedule management from a commercial perspective Differentiating and managing standard post-contract procurement vs. externally funded delivery activities Requirements: Strong experience in commercial management within infrastructure or regulated sectors Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes Solid understanding of procurement processes and commercial frameworks Experience with cost management, forecasting, and financial governance Demonstrable capability in risk evaluation and programme delivery support Clear communication skills with the ability to influence at senior levels This is an urgent requirement - if interested, please apply asap and any questions, email claire.shipman@1st-executive.com
