A wonderful opportunity to work for Swansea Bay University Health Board as part of our ophthalmology team. We are excited to offer this newly created band 4 ophthalmic associate practitioner post and are sure it will provide the successful candidate with a rewarding and interesting career with further development opportunities in the field of ophthalmology.
The post holder will work in ophthalmology outpatient clinics where they will provide high quality individualised care to a defined group of service users. They will perform tests which may include Goldmann applination tonometry and duties such as performing a scrub role for intravitreal injections.
The position requires independent working although supervision is available within the Ophthalmology clinic. The role also involves training of more junior staff and conducting their annual appraisals. Decision making is required. Full training will be provided.

Essential criteria
1. Agored Cymru Level 3 Certificate in the Fundamentals of Ophthalmology
2. Additional theoretical or applied training in Ophthalmology to diploma equivalent level
Experience
Essential criteria
3. Understanding of anatomy, physiology and disease process of relevant ophthalmological conditions
4. Experience working in healthcare in an Ophthalmology department
Desirable criteria
5. Competent in basic ophthalmology testing techniques
6. Experience of appointments systems
